How Brewlab Holdings Incorporated collects, uses, stores and protects personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how Brewlab Holdings Incorporated (ABN 45 391 388 706) ("Brewlab", "we", "us", "our") handles personal information collected through our activities, including our programs, events, this website and our communications. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and ACNC Governance Standards.

2. What we collect

We collect only the personal information we need to deliver our charitable purpose. This includes:

  • Name, email and phone number (membership, contact and registration forms)
  • Date of birth or age range (to confirm eligibility as a youth beneficiary aged 15 to under 25)
  • Emergency contact information (program participation)
  • Working with Children Check details (adult volunteers in eligible roles)
  • Health/safety information (e.g. allergies or accessibility needs) relevant to safe program delivery
  • Records of program attendance and any safeguarding-related concerns

3. How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • Operate our charitable education programs safely
  • Meet our legal and regulatory obligations (Incorporated Associations Act, ACNC, WHS, child safety)
  • Communicate with members, participants, parents/guardians, volunteers and partners
  • Improve our programs and our governance

4. Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may share information only where necessary, including with Monash University staff for joint program delivery and safety governance, with regulators where required by law, and with insurers in the event of an incident. We require third parties to handle information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Storage and security

Personal information is stored in secure systems with access limited to authorised committee members and program leads. We retain records for the period required by law and our policies, then securely delete or destroy them.

6. Cookies and this website

This static website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics by default. The site uses only first-party scripts hosted on the same domain. If a contact form is connected to a backend service in future, that service's privacy practices will be linked here.

7. Children and young people

Where personal information is collected from participants under 18, we obtain consent from a parent or guardian. We apply additional safeguards to information collected from young people, in line with our Child Safety policy.

8. Your rights

You can request access to or correction of your personal information at any time by emailing secretary@brewlab.org.au. We will respond within a reasonable period and will not charge for access. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

9. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
